Studio Sunday + Random Cute Stuff

Today I worked on some new Alice Jewelry in my studio. I made a bunch of Alice pendants for necklaces and earrings. A couple weeks ago I introduced black and white illustrations to my collection. Some of these are a new black and white cheshire cat pendant that I'm going to be adding to my Etsy Shop soon. These pendants haven't been sealed or drilled yet. Once they are, they'll be made into jewelry and photographed for listing. There is also a new color pendant for the collection of Alice and the Garden of Live Flowers. It's so cute and is my new favorite! (I'll have to make one for me)

A couple of days ago I was also in my studio working on some new polymer clay charms. Some have been since put up for sale and others are still a work in progress.

Now some random cute stuff I thought I would share! My two hello kitty plushies which I love (my brother tells me I'm too old for hello kitty but what does he know?!) And my collection of Harajuku Lovers perfume (of course mostly just purchased for the dolls) ;)

Hope you all have a great Sunday! I hope to have the FFD June Newsletter sent out in a few days so look out for that.

Alice Cameos - Preview II

This is the second preview of a new design I have been working on and I LOVE how these ones turned out! More than likely I will be selling these soon as necklace pendants on fun colored ball chains. I'm thinking about having color options of gunmetal, gold, pink, and red (maybe mint too). I also got a suggestion from several people to make them into pins, so I think I will make a couple of those too and see how they sell.

For now I just decided to do the White Rabbit and Alice. I definitely will be doing more characters in the future. Overall I love the girly, vintage-inspired, lolita style of the pendants. Another idea I had was to add some micro-fine glitter to the finish. I tried it on a test pendant and it is so cute. That might be an option if people like the idea.

What do you think of them?

Work in Progress - AIW Collection

Lately I have been working on new designs for my Alice collection. I really want to improve and grow the line. So I have been updating older designs, adding new scenes, and improving quality. I don't know about you, but I LOVE the classic novel and Tenniel illustrations. It was my favorite childhood book and constantly inspires me with endless possibilities for designs.

I wanted to share with you a new idea I had for the Alice collection that is still in the works. I had this idea a few months ago for "framed alice pendants". It sort of evolved and took on a life of its own into black and white "Alice Cameos", using the original black line illustrations from the book.

The other day I finally made a prototype, which you can see in the pictures. This one features the white rabbit in an ornate frame with a cute bow. Eventually I would like to have a whole line of Alice Cameos featuring the main characters from the book and maybe a few scenes.

Let me know what you think! Of course the final cameos will have some changes. One of which being making the cameos slightly smaller and making them into necklaces, bracelets, and rings.

Look forward to the final products soon!

Big Changes Planned for FFD

Lately, I've been thinking a lot about improving the FFD website. A few weeks ago I ran several poles on my DeviantArt account asking people their opinions about could be improved with the website to make it more customer friendly. Most people said more ways to pay and more variety. People also liked the idea of customizing their own Sweet Treats Jewelry.

I have decided that I want to completely overhaul the FFD website. I am going to change the site to a Yahoo Webstore, which would allow for improvements in all areas that people critiqued, including being able to pay with a credit card without using Paypal, better looking site, being able to use coupon codes in the shopping cart and more. There are also a lot of benefits for me. I would be able to easily track inventory, sales, discounts would not have to be done manually, easier listing of new products, and better organization and categories. It would also take me much less time to list new items, meaning..(drumroll please).. MORE VARIETY! The website will still be dedicated to my hand sculpted polymer clay sweet treats jewelry, but with a twist, which I am not going to reveal until closer to the unveiling of the new site. So you will just have to wait eagerly! I hope that by May the new website will be up and running.

There will also be a few changes coming to the FFD Etsy Shop. I have realized that my Alice in Wonderland collection is loved by many so I will therefore be dedicating my entire Etsy shop to this collection soon. This means a lot more variety within the Alice line and a cohesiveness to the shop. I will not be listing any more Edgy Feminine Jewelry so that I can really focus on and perfect the Alice line. Other than custom orders, any new items listed will be Alice in Wonderland related. I hope this is exciting news to all of the Alice fans out there!

On another note, I'm still slowly but surely getting ready for the benefit/show I have at the end of April. I'm super excited and with each new item I make for the show I realize that it is getting closer. I will keep you all updated on my progress as the days go by. I hope you realize this is also the reason why there is less listing in my Etsy Shop and updating to the FFD website. Regular listing/updating will resume after April 30th.

Well, I thank you all for your love and support, have a great Monday!
